Influenza Vaccine Update

The 2020-2021 Flu Season has concluded. We are concerned about your health and encourage everyone to get vaccinated annually against influenza. Keep your eye out for the 2021-2022 Flu Season updates!

It’s critical that everyone who is able receives a flu vaccine. It’s essential that active duty service members, active duty family members and other beneficiaries are well-protected from influenza.

Please see the guidance below for getting the flu vaccine here at 28th Medical Group.

Active Duty Service Members (ADSMs)

Per AFI 48-110, all active duty and Guard/Reserve members are required to get the flu vaccine, annually.
We do not currently have the Influenza Vaccine for all of our ADSMs.

As we don’t have them in stock at this time, all ADSMs may visit www.tricare.mil/flu to find a TRICARE-approved provider or pharmacy to receive the flu vaccine.

  • If you visit a TRICARE-authorized provider, you will need a referral from your Primary Care Manager.
  • If you go to a participating network pharmacy, it’s best to call the pharmacy to ask their hours of operation and if the flu vaccine is offered by walk in or by appointment only.

When you get a flu vaccine from anywhere besides the 28th Medical Group, you will need to bring proof of vaccination to the clinic for recording the vaccine in your shot record. You'll need the following information:

  • The date the vaccine was given
  • The vaccine name or code
  • Manufacturer
  • Lot number

All Other Beneficiaries

We do not currently have the Influenza Vaccine for all of our TRICARE Beneficiaries
  • For all beneficiaries, please visit www.tricare.mil/flu to find a TRICARE-approved provider or pharmacy to receive the flu vaccine.
  • You don’t need a referral from your primary care manager if you visit a network provider and many providers are offering walk-in services. It’s best to call ahead to see what is required.
  • If you go to a participating network pharmacy, it’s best to call the pharmacy to ask their hours of business and if the flu vaccine is offered by walk in or by appointment only.
